About
The Cottage
Just 2 miles from Stonehenge this delightful cottage is located within a 2 acre garden. Only 8 miles into Salisbury and less than a mile to walk into the local town of Amesbury. It’s a small town with everything you might need; independent baker and butcher, post office, banks, restaurants, take-aways and buses into Salisbury.
We are within the World Heritage site and the remains of an Iron Age Fort run alongside the cottage.
The cottage is fabulously well equipped and recently renovated. The bedroom has a super king size bed with gorgeous views from the window. Four more can sleep in the sitting room where there is a double futon sofabed and a single bed with single trundle underneath. A super bathroom with power shower and immediate hot water is located at one end of the cottage and a cloakroom with loo and sink at the other.
The hosts are on hand to lend anything you may require and point you in the right direction for the many amazing sights and activities in the area.
Stonehenge
Stonehenge’s ring of standing stones are set within earthworks in the middle of the most dense complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments in England, including several hundred burial mounds. Archaeologists believe it was constructed from 3000 BC to 2000 BC. The surrounding circular earth bank and ditch, which constitute the earliest phase of the monument, have been dated to about 3100 BC.
The site and its surroundings were added to UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites in 1986 and it is a legally protected Scheduled Ancient Monument.
Open Daily 9:30am to 7pm

Reviews
The garden was magical and the owners had put some extra personal touches in the villa in preparation for our arrival.
It is an excellent place to spend your holidays with children. Everything is very clean and well maintained, anything you need you can ask the owner. In the kitchen there is a bit of everything to prepare hot drinks on arrival, in the dining room you have board games and TV with Netflix and the bathroom is very modern. The Cottage is quiet and restful, and close to the village in case you need to do some shopping. Everything was perfect.
A perfect place that suited our needs exactly. We hope to be back!
